Nutrient Dense ChocolateRaspberry Mousse Recipe
Valentine's Day usually brings to mind heart-shaped boxes, excess sugar, and an opportunity to tell the people we love the most how much they mean to us. We live in a culture that loves sweet treats, but often, those treats don't love us back.
What if you could satisfy that deep desire for rich chocolate while actually nourishing your body?
In the spirit of honoring tradition and supporting wellness, we’re rethinking dessert. We’ve created a decadent and healthy chocolate mousse centered around nature’s most time-honored superfoods. It’s a way to celebrate with your loved ones without compromising your commitment to whole-food nutrition.
This isn’t just dessert; it’s a powerhouse of nutrients disguised as a bite-sized luxury.
The Secret Ingredient: Synergy in a Spoonful
The star of this recipe is our Fermented Cod Liver Oil & Concentrated Butter Oil Blend in our beloved chocolate flavor.
For those following an ancestral diet, the combination of cod liver oil and butter oil is legendary. This blend brings together two traditional fats that work together synergistically. By using our chocolate blend in this recipe, you are getting:
- Vitamin A: A fat-soluble vitamin that helps support normal vision, immune function, and healthy growth and maintenance of tissues.
- Vitamin D: A fat-soluble vitamin that plays a role in calcium balance, normal bone development, and immune system function.
- EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid): An omega-3 fatty acid found in fish oils that is involved in normal inflammatory responses and circulatory health.
- DHA (docosahexaenoic acid): A key structural fat in the brain and eyes, supporting nervous system and visual function
- CLA (conjugated linoleic acid): A naturally occurring fatty acid found in grass-fed dairy, studied for its role in metabolic balance
While many of our customers take their daily serving straight from the spoon, the chocolate flavor, enhanced with cocoa powder, silica, organic vanilla extract, and organic stevia, makes it the perfect base for a rich, mousse-like treat. It allows you to enjoy the benefits of these sacred foods in a way that feels like pure indulgence.
A Note on Richness and Nutrient Density
Because this recipe utilizes a significant amount of the Fermented Cod Liver Oil & Concentrated Butter Oil Blend, this chocolate mousse recipe is very rich. Think of this less like a big bowl of pudding and more like a concentrated truffle or a "fat bomb." The recipe below yields enough dessert for four people to share out of one bowl, or to make four smaller bite-sized servings. We want to make sure that you are aware that the total daily recommended servings of Fermented Cod Liver Oil & Concentrated Butter Oil Blend in this recipe is roughly 1/2 tsp; there are 2 tsp in this recipe, so split between four people, that makes 1 daily recommended serving per person. If this recipe is on your menu today, we recommend making it your sole FCLO serving for the day.
Healthy Chocolate Raspberry Mousse Recipe
Yields: 4 servings (*See above)
Prep time: 10 minutes
Chill time: 30–60 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 ripe avocado
- 2 tsp Green Pasture Fermented Cod Liver Oil & Concentrated Butter Oil Blend Chocolate Flavor
- 1 tsp organic cocoa powder or cacao powder
- 2 1/2 tbsp raw honey or maple syrup
- 2 tbsp grass-fed heavy cream or coconut cream (Optional, but recommended for extra richness and texture)
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of high-quality mineral salt
- 1/2 cup fresh organic raspberries

Instructions
- Soften the Blend: The Fermented Cod Liver Oil & Concentrated Butter Oil Blend is a gel that may solidify in cool temperatures. If yours is solid, soften the 2 teaspoons of the chocolate blend by leaving it out at room temperature for a few hours. (do not heat!)
- Prepare the Base: Scoop the flesh of the ripe avocado into a blender, mixer, or food processor.
- Combine: Add the softened chocolate blend, cocoa (or cacao) powder, honey (or maple syrup), heavy cream (or coconut cream), vanilla extract, and salt to the avocado in the blender or mixer.
- Blend: Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. You may need to scrape down the sides of the blender or bowl once or twice to ensure no avocado lumps remain.
- Add the Berries: Now add the raspberries and blend or mix until smooth and creamy.
- Taste and Tweak: Give it a quick taste test. If you prefer a sweeter mousse, add a little more honey or maple syrup. If you want a deeper chocolate punch, you can add another teaspoon of regular organic cocoa or cacao powder here.
- Chill: Transfer the chocolate mousse into small ramekins or mini serving glasses. Refrigerate for 30–60 minutes. This step is crucial as it allows the butter oil to firm up slightly, giving this healthy chocolate mousse a luxurious, velvety texture.
- Serve: Top with fresh raspberries just before serving.
Garnish Ideas
To add texture and even more nutrition, consider topping your chocolate mousse with:
- Crushed Soaked Nuts: Crispy almonds or hazelnuts add a lovely crunch.
- Fresh Berries: Strawberries or blackberries work just as well as raspberries.
- Cacao Nibs: For a deep, chocolaty crunch.
- Whipped Cream: A dollop of homemade raw whipped cream for the ultimate finish.

Substitutions and Ancestral Tips
- Dairy-Free: Strictly dairy-free individuals can swap the heavy cream in the recipe for full-fat coconut cream.
- Sweeteners: Maple syrup will mix in slightly easier than honey, but raw honey offers beneficial enzymes. Both are excellent traditional options.
- Temperature: Remember that because this recipe relies on natural fats, the texture will change depending on the temperature. Serve straight from the fridge for the best chocolate mousse consistency.
