Green Pasture Concentrated Butter Oil is a traditionally prepared butter oil made from milk produced by grass-fed cows. Inspired by the work of Dr. Weston A. Price, this product reflects the traditional appreciation for nutrient-dense foods.
The quality of butter oil begins with the cow’s diet. Factors such as grass variety, growing conditions, climate, timing of grazing, and sourcing all influence the characteristics of the finished oil.
We extract and concentrate the butter oil through centrifugation, a process that creates a rich, concentrated oil while maintaining its naturally occurring nutritional profile.
Concentrated Butter Oil naturally contains vitamin A, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), and other naturally occurring fat-soluble nutrients.

Dr. Weston A. Price introduced the benefits of concentrated (“high vitamin”) butter oil in his landmark book, Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, published in 1939. Dr. Price described a process of “centrifugalizing” high-quality butter to obtain a concentrated butter oil. Dr. Price discovered that this special concentrated butter oil provided fat-soluble “activators” that vastly improved mineral absorption in the many mineral-deficient individuals he encountered. The activators were most prevalent when the butter came from cows grazing on rapidly growing grass.
Green Pasture Products has gone to great lengths to revive Dr. Price’s vital discovery. We strive to replicate the careful farming, production, and centrifugation practices that yield the concentrated butter oil that he so prized.
